Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dan Evans (ranked 4693 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quincy Fapple (ranked 4948 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dan Evans!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Quincy Fapple!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Donatello Bradman and Francis DeMontford.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Evans gets a clinch.

Evans breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Evans throws a right hand that Fapple ducks under and follows up with a left that Fapple also avoids with ease.
Fapple scores with a jab to the jaw.
Evans darts in trying to clinch
and Fapple counters with a right hand to the body.

Fapple gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Fapple being controlled here, momentarily.

Evans gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Evans scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Fapple tries to kick Evans off in order to stand up. Evans Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Evans is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Fapple tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Evans wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Evans staying calm.

Evans decides to stand back up.
Evans dodges the punch combination from Fapple.

Evans drives through and clinches with Fapple against the cage.

Evans is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Fapple is defending well.
Evans tries to score a body lock takedown but Fapple shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Evans tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Fapple smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dan Evans. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Evans gets cracked there but stands up to it.

and Fapple counters with a straight right hand.
Evans tries to clinch there but Fapple circles away.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Evans.
Fapple really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Evans. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Evans works to advance to full mount. Fapple defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Fapple is desperately trying to improve his position but Evans has a good base and remains in mount.
Evans scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Fapple?
Fapple is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Evans lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Fapple tries to reverse the position but Evans maintains control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fapple is still trying to improve position.
Fapple wants to hold on but Evans pushes him away.

Evans with a couple of short strikes.
Fapple is in a horrible position here. Evans smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Fapple trying desperately to get to his feet.
Evans takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Fapple is desperately trying to improve his position but Evans has a good base and remains in mount.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Fapple wants to control but Evans is having none of it.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Evans tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Fapple paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Fapple looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Fapple circles away from the clinch attempt.
Evans lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Evans has his takedown stuffed
and Evans takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Evans has taken the fight to the clinch.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Evans.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Evans's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Evans has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Fapple regains guard immediately.

Fapple is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fapple trying to keep a closed guard but Evans is proving a slippery customer.

Fapple looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Evans passes into side control.
Fapple tries to improve position but can't.

Evans looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Fapple tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.

Evans controlling the position easily from mount.
Evans is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Fapple can do to turn this around?
Fapple tries to improve his position but instead Evans has taken his back!
I would not like to be Fapple right now.
Evans controlling well, preventing Fapple from escaping the position.
Evans just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Fapple is trying to break free.
Evans not allowing Fapple to control his hands.
Evans lands strikes to the head.

Fapple tries to escape the position.
Good control from Evans.

Evans has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Fapple has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Fapple defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Evans's arms.

Evans is persistently looking for the submission but Fapple is defending it well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Evans has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.

Fapple covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
Fapple trying to control but not successfully.
Evans has good solid back control here.
Fapple is trying to get back to his feet but Evans has full control of the position and if anything, Fapple has just worked his way into a worse spot.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Evans is not going to allow Fapple to sit and survive in this position.

Fapple trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.

Evans decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Fapple scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Evans manages to mount him!

Dan Evans overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Fapple is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Fapple has given up his back here.
Fapple trying to control the action but Evans just sinks the hooks in.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
What can Fapple do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

Evans has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Fapple is defending well but eventually Evans manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Fapple has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
