Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Elvijs Jenots!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Uraya Berrio!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Ryoma Takatsuka and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jenots closes the distance and clinches.

Berrio wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Jenots has him pressed against the cage.

Berrio had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Jenots defends it easily.
Jenots not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Berrio jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jenots walks away with a smile on his face. Berrio gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Jenots is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Berrio working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Jenots doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Jenots manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Jenots shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Jenots was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Jenots is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Jenots seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Berrio for as long as he can get away with.

Berrio felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Berrio rushes Jenots and presses him up against the cage.
Jenots changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Berrio fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Berrio tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jenots sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Berrio somewhat.
