Rua keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Heid is looking to clinch but Rua is avoiding it.

AJ Heid seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rua stuffs the takedown attempt from Heid. Heid gets slowly back to his feet.
Rua has managed to clinch.
Heid wants a takedown.

Rua really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Heid. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Heid is working for a guillotine from mount but Rua frees his head quite easily.
Heid looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Rua defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Heid.
Heid goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Rua turns into him and now he's in Heid's guard.
Heid is looking for a triangle but Rua pushes his legs off easily.

Heid working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rua doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Heid is tightening it up a little... Rua has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Rua reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Rua taps out! nice BJJ there by Heid!
