PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Gabe Ruth (ranked 5384 p4p, 483 weight class) and Neil Peil (ranked 24953 p4p, 572 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Gabe Ruth has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Gabe Ruth seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Ruth.
Peil swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Peil fails in his attempt to clinch.
Ruth shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Peil as he jumps to the side.

Peil unleashes a big counter combination but Ruth bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

Ruth is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Peil is defending well though. Ruth let's go of the attempt for now.

A kick lands to the mid section there for Peil.
Ruth shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Ruth does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Despite the aggression on Peil's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Peil tries to bum rush Ruth with a series of wild strikes but Ruth uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Ruth bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Peil's guard.

Ruth is looking to work some ground and pound but Peil has wrist control.

Peil is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Ruth is controlling him.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Ruth shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Peil pinned against the cage. Peil gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
