The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Laperierre keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Roy.
Laperierre closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Roy is trying to get back to half guard.
Laperierre looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Laperierre tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Laperierre wants to control but Roy is keeping him busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Laperierre really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Laperierre maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Roy could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Laperierre has cracked it and Roy is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Laperierre!
