The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alves shoots in for a double leg but Manoel sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Manoel changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
A left and a right from Manoel both land. Nice combination.
It looks like Thiago Alves has been cut.
Alves looks gassed!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Manoel lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Manoel tests Alves's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Alves seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Manoel shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Alves is backing up but Manoel catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Alves covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Manoel Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Claudio Manoel!
