Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Yewis Mybitch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rory Andler!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Columbo Gatti and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Andler with a nice cross.
Mybitch's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Mybitch duly obliges.
The fighters circle momentarily. Mybitch darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Andler tries a head kick but it misses.
Mybitch's jab looks to have found its range, popping Andler under the eye.
Mybitch waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Andler.
Andler counters with a body kick.
Mybitch stuffs the takedown attempt from Andler. Andler gets slowly back to his feet.
Mybitch was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Mybitch throws a nice looking combination but Andler bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Andler unleashes a big counter combination but Mybitch bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Mybitch walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Andler checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Yewis Mybitch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mybitch with a body punch. A glancing blow.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Andler throws a head kick but Mybitch moves out of range.
Mybitch lands a left and a right that send Andler crashing to the mat, dazed. Mybitch thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Andler is rocked!
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Mybitch has cracked Andler with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Mybitch lands another huge swinging hook and Andler tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Andler, before Mybitch can land any more shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Yewis Mybitch!
Yewis Mybitch decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
