Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ariel Schroder (ranked 3146 p4p, 170 weight class) and Theodore Nouveau (ranked 3075 p4p, 167 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Schroder looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Nouveau!
Nouveau is not content to let Schroder control the position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Schroder wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Nouveau, who protects the arm well.
Nouveau is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Schroder is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Nouveau's shoulder. That is not cool.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Nouveau pushes Schroder away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Schroder gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Nouveau shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Schroder's guard.
Nouveau stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Schroder swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Nouveau keeps trying to improve his position.

Nouveau is posturing up here but Schroder has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Nouveau tries to roll out but it's too tight and Nouveau has to tap! Slick submission there by Schroder!
