PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ibbe Ribbler (ranked 2175 p4p, 241 weight class) and Proper Communist (ranked 1864 p4p, 205 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Ribbler might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Bad Religion - Infected. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Communist walks into a straight right hand from Ribbler.
Communist ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Communist misses with a low kick.
Ribbler was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Communist scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Communist lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Ribbler walks into a straight right hand from Communist.
A nice leg kick lands there from Communist.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ribbler throws a sloppy head kick and Communist moves out of range easily.
Proper Communist is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Communist lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Communist breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

The crowd cheers as Communist lands an impressive looking overhand right. Ribbler doesn't seem phased though.

Ribbler swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Communist throws a shot from downtown. Ribbler moves away and avoids it.
Communist scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
A nice inside leg kick there by Communist. That's going to slow Ribbler down.
Ribbler feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Communist's calf.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
A body shot lands from Ribbler.
Ribbler throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Communists head.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Communist.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Still in the clinch, Communist scores with a nice short uppercut.

Ribbler tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Communist's elbow.
Ribbler has Communist pressed against the ropes, preventing Communist from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Proper Communist showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Communist throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ribbler stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Ribbler checks a leg kick.

Communist lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Communist's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

It looked like Ribbler wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

After the fight, Proper Communist was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
