Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Knutr Sveinsson (ranked 5147 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Dio (ranked 4467 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sveinsson throws a series of punches but Dio moves out of range.
Sveinsson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dio moves away.
The fighters circling - Sveinsson throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Dio connects with a single shot there.
Sveinsson misses with a low kick.
Sveinsson throws a right and a left that Dio avoids nicely.
Dio connects with a body shot.
A right-left combo lands from Sveinsson.
Sveinsson misses with a double jab.
Despite the aggression on Dio's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Sveinsson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dio circles away quickly and effectively.
Knutr Sveinsson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Dio drives through and clinches with Sveinsson against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dio has Sveinsson pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Dio pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Sveinsson tumbling to the mat - Dio dives into Sveinsson's guard.
Dio stays in close to Sveinsson's body and controls the position.
Dio wants to pass the guard but Sveinsson is keeping the position.

Dio seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Dio passes Sveinsson's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Dio missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Dio thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Dio thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Sveinsson's head.
Well, if Dio is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dio tries to pass to full mount but Sveinsson defends it.
Dio throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Ground and pound from Dio.
Dio is trying to control. Sveinsson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Dio throwing shots but Sveinsson is blocking nicely.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dio not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Dio throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Dio wants to control but Sveinsson is keeping him busy.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Dio rushes Sveinsson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Sveinsson throws an elbow but it misses.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Sveinsson just misses with a elbow thrown towards Dio's brow.
Dio has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Dio wants to take the fight to the mat but Sveinsson manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Sveinsson lands a shoulder strike.
Dio wants a takedown but no success here.
Nice elbow from Sveinsson.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Still in the clinch, Sveinsson scores with a nice short uppercut.
Dio can't break the clinch.
Dio is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Dio drops down looking for an ankle pick but Sveinsson pulls his leg out and moves away.
Knutr Sveinsson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Dio.
Dio scores with a one two! Sveinsson had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Sveinsson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Dio moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A slapping leg kick lands for Sveinsson.
Sveinsson slips a jab and a cross from Dio.
Dio changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Sveinsson tries to avoid it but Dio manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Sveinsson to the ground. Sveinsson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
No joy there for Sveinsson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Dio moves out of range of the body kick.
Sveinsson ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dio moves away.
Dio throws a counter combo.
Sveinsson misses with an uppercut. Dio saw that one coming.
Sveinsson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Dio lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Knutr Sveinsson will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Sveinsson connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Sveinsson throws out a powerful jab.
Dio ducks under a wild hook from Sveinsson.
Sveinsson bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Dio is rocked!
Sveinsson throws a shot from downtown. Dio moves away and avoids it.
Dio is still on wobbly legs! Can Sveinsson finish him?
Sveinsson scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Dio seems to have recovered his senses.
Sveinsson is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Dio hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!

Knutr Sveinsson really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Red Light Coffeeshop logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
