And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Manny Perez!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stafford scores with a crisp jab that stopped Perez in his tracks.
Stafford connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Perez momentarily.
Perez misses with a straight right.
Stafford closes this distance looking for a takedown but Perez circles away.
Perez misses with a series of wild punches.
Stafford shoots in but Perez avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Perez fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Stafford on the side of the head.
Stafford shoots in looking for a takedown but Perez manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Stafford's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Galen Stafford. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Stafford really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Perez wants to break free but Stafford has control.

Perez wants to get back to striking at distance but Stafford won't allow it.
Stafford tries to pull guard but Perez forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Stafford breaks from the clinch.
A head kick from Stafford lands but Perez takes it in his stride.
Stafford avoids a kick to the body.

Stafford scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Perez throws Stafford to one side and escapes!

Stafford darts in and clinches Perez up against the cage.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Perez is trying to break free.

Stafford is pushing Perez up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Stafford has Perez pressed against the cage, preventing Perez from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Perez avoids the elbow strike from Stafford, against the cage.
Stafford looking to slow down the pace here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Perez wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Stafford has him pressed against the cage.
Come on Perez - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Stafford throws a head punch that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Perez is trying to break free.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Stafford just misses with a elbow thrown towards Perez's brow.
Stafford tries a knee to the head but Perez blocks it.

Perez looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Stafford breaks from the clinch.
Stafford smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Perez darts in and clinches Stafford up against the cage.
Perez wants to break free but Stafford has control.
Stafford misses with a hook from the clinch.

Perez tightens his grip and picks Stafford up, before dumping him to the ground. Stafford manages to land in guard.
Stafford will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Perez sitting in guard here, content to control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Perez's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Perez wants to stand but Stafford is controlling his posture from full guard.

Stafford looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Stafford can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Perez controls the pace.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Perez decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Stafford checks the leg kick.

Perez manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Stafford on his heels. He'll look to pass Stafford's guard now, I'm sure.

Stafford escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Perez gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Stafford is looking for a triangle but Perez pushes his legs off easily.
Perez slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Manny Perez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Perez drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Stafford throws a hook to the side of Perez's head but Perez sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Stafford misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Perez clinches.

Perez has clasped his hands together around Stafford's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Stafford looking for a sweep but Perez has passed into full mount! Oh no!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Perez controlling the position easily from mount.

Perez is continuing to stall.
Stafford throwing punches from his back but nothing is landing.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Perez content just to control the position here.
Stafford is wriggling around trying to escape.
Stafford is squirming around, avoiding Perez's attempts to control the action.
Perez tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Let's hope that Perez has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Perez wants to control the pace but Stafford is squirming around nicely.

And that's the end of the fight!
Manny Perez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Perez winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
