PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Berklerk Pinsinchai (ranked 3797 p4p, 322 weight class) and Jay Brown (ranked 3945 p4p, 330 weight class). Brown comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Hate me now by nas kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Berklerk Pinsinchai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jay Brown!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Albert Achterberg and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Brown looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Brown connects with a good right hand that stumbles Pinsinchai. Pinsinchai circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Pinsinchai fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Brown avoids it really well and circles away.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Brown wants to take the fight to the mat but Pinsinchai manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Brown has Pinsinchai pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Pinsinchai manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
I was talking to Pinsinchai's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Brown has hold of one of Pinsinchai's legs. Pinsinchai is fighting the takedown attempt but Brown gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Brown drops back looking for a leg! Pinsinchai is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pinsinchai manages to kick Brown off! Brown jumps back into Pinsinchai's guard.
Pinsinchai can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Brown controls the pace.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Brown advances position into side control!
Pinsinchai defending against the ground and pound.
Brown is staying tight to Pinsinchai's torso, preventing him from escaping.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Brown tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Brown has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Brown is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Pinsinchai looks calm but he's in trouble here. Brown gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Pinsinchai is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Brown lets go of the hold and Pinsinchai can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jay Brown!
Jay Brown decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
