Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Warner Pickett (ranked 4906 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barrigudo Do Arrocha (ranked 5140 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Barrigudo Do Arrocha!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Emerson Jorge and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pickett gets a takedown into half guard.
Pickett misses with a head shot. Do Arrocha uses the momentum to regain guard.
Do Arrocha wants to sweep here but Pickett controlling him for the moment.
Do Arrocha has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pickett throwing strikes but missing.
Pickett trying to control the position from guard on top but Do Arrocha is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Do Arrocha is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Pickett gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Do Arrocha jumps guard.
Do Arrocha keeping moving, preventing Pickett from controlling successfully.
Do Arrocha working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Pickett.
Do Arrocha avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Pickett is fighting to break Do Arrocha's control of his arms but Do Arrocha is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Let's hope that Do Arrocha has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Pickett postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Pickett accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Pickett closes the distance and clinches.
Pickett tries to break the clinch but Do Arrocha is controlling the position.

Do Arrocha pulls Pickett into guard.
Do Arrocha working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Pickett.
Pickett throws an elbow that misses. Do Arrocha uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Pickett's guard. Nice move by Do Arrocha!

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Do Arrocha wants to control from the top but Pickett keeps moving.
Pickett throws a couple of heel strikes.
Do Arrocha trying to control the position from guard on top but Pickett is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Pickett wants to sweep but no luck.
Do Arrocha looking to pass the guard.

Pickett has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Do Arrocha can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Pickett is controlling Do Arrocha's posture.

Do Arrocha advances position into side control!
Pickett is trying to escape the position but Do Arrocha is controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Warner Pickett will probably get the nod.

Pickett tries to clinch there but Do Arrocha circles away.

Pickett goes for a takedown attempt but Do Arrocha pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Pickett throws a sloppy head kick and Do Arrocha moves out of range easily.
Do Arrocha doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.

Pickett gets a clinch.

Pickett tries to pull guard but Do Arrocha forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Do Arrocha manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Pickett in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Pickett throws a big elbow that misses.
Do Arrocha is pulling down on Pickett's head. It's preventing any offense from Pickett, at least for the moment.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Pickett changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Do Arrocha tries to avoid it but Pickett manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Do Arrocha to the ground. Do Arrocha escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Warner Pickett. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Pickett has managed to clinch.
Pickett is looking for a takedown.
Do Arrocha gets underhooks to prevent Pickett's takedown attempt.

Pickett tries to pull guard but Do Arrocha holds him up against the cage and eventually Pickett drops back down to his feet.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Do Arrocha seems keen to control Pickett's posture.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Pickett's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Do Arrocha looking for a sweep. Not yet Do Arrocha, not yet.
Pickett postures up in Do Arrocha's guard and throws a big left but Do Arrocha blocks it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Pickett fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Warner Pickett will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Pickett tries to close the distance and clinch but Do Arrocha swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Do Arrocha circles away from the clinch attempt.
Do Arrocha let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Pickett wants to clinch up but Do Arrocha keeps it at a distance.
A countering left hand to the body from Do Arrocha misses.
Pickett tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Do Arrocha defends well and Pickett ends up having to push Do Arrocha into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Do Arrocha now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Pickett tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Do Arrocha manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Pickett shoots in for a takedown but Do Arrocha shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Pickett throws an elbow but Do Arrocha slips to the side and avoids it well.
Pickett wants to stand but Do Arrocha has his arm trapped.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Do Arrocha keeping his opponent close.
An elbow from Pickett crashes against the mat.
Do Arrocha tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Pickett wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Pickett throws a strike aimed at the side of Do Arrocha's head but Do Arrocha avoids it well.
Do Arrocha defending against the ground and pound.
Pickett in side control, throwing shots but Do Arrocha defends.
Do Arrocha manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Do Arrocha seems to be looking for submissions.
Do Arrocha is pressing down on Pickett's thigh, looking to free his foot. Pickett is holding on for now.
Do Arrocha trying to control the pace.
Do Arrocha seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Pickett does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Do Arrocha moves nicely into side control.

Pickett is looking to reverse the position.
Do Arrocha working away.
Pickett is trying to improve his position.

Do Arrocha is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pickett is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Do Arrocha wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Pickett, who protects the arm well.
Pickett is looking for a sweep.

Do Arrocha tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Do Arrocha working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Pickett trying to control but Do Arrocha flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!

Pickett is keeping busy.
Pickett rolls, trying to escape but Do Arrocha keeps control of the position.

Pickett is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Do Arrocha gets his way!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Do Arrocha slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Pickett is trying to defend against the choke here but Do Arrocha has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Do Arrocha Tightens the hold and Pickett taps out furiously! Do Arrocha displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
