Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cruz Dillon (ranked 24780 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Black (ranked 4831 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 1, fighting out of London, Cruz Dillon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Joe Black!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Colin Fotheringham and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Black shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Black showed some decent athleticism there.
Dillon really is a fat lump.
Dillon trying to control but Black postures up.
Dillon is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Dillon is staying active underneath Black, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Black wants to advance to full mount but Dillon doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dillon looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Black stopping the sweep attempt from Dillon.

Black controlling from the top position.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Dillon controls Black momentarily but Black frees himself.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Black clinches.
Black has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Dillon is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Black prevents a takedown attempt there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Black jumps into guard, dragging Dillon to the mat.
Black trying to keep a closed guard but Dillon is proving a slippery customer.
Dillon looking to sit in guard and control but Black gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Black content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Black lands a couple of digs.
Black's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Black throws a big elbow that misses.
Black seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dillon controlling Black's posture.
Black pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Dillon is keeping the position for now.

Black decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Black shoots in and drives through. Dillon sprawls well.
Dillon tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Black shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Black was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
A lull in the action here as Black stalls from top position.
Black looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Dillon is avoiding damage well.
Black throwing shots but missing, from side control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Black wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Dillon, who protects the arm well.
Black in side control, just content to control the action for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joe Black dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


A head kick misses from Dillon.
Black is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.

Black drives through and clinches with Dillon against the cage.

Black drags the fight down to the ground.
Black is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dillon got a little sloppy there for a moment and Black has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dillon has managed to get both his arms back between Black's legs - danger averted.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Black holds on and takes a little breather.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Black lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Black gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
A punch combination from Dillon misses.
Black looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dillon is fending him off so far but Black persists. Nope, Dillon circles away and we're back to standing.
Dillon appears to be looking for a big counter.
Black fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Dillon avoids it really well and circles away.
Horrible takedown attempt by Black or perhaps it was just good defense by Dillon, which made it look bad.
Cruz Dillon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Black.
Sloppy strikes from Dillon. Those never looked like landing.
Dillon stuffs the takedown attempt from Black. Black gets slowly back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Black rushes Dillon and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Black stalling in the clinch.
Dillon is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Black to keep the fight standing.
Black wants to take the fight to the mat but Dillon manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Black is breathing heavily.
Dillon is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Black gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Black jumps guard.
Dillon trying to control but Black is working from the bottom.
Black wants to get back to his feet but Dillon is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Dillon has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Black is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Joe Black has got the better of the ground game so far.

Black throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Dillon escapes and throws Black's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Dillon is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Black is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Black is trying to improve his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Black struggling a bit here.

Dillon swings around for an armbar but Black sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Dillon's guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Black trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Dillon being controlled here, momentarily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joe Black showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!



Black gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Black drops down looking for an ankle pick but Dillon pulls his leg out and moves away.
Black blocks a jab.
Black is looking for the big counter here.
Nice takedown defense from Dillon. No joy for Black on that attempt.

Black drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Black wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dillon keeps working.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Dillon gets back to half guard.
Dillon wants to control but Black is keeping busy.
Black is controlling the pace.
Black trying to control from Dillon's half guard. Dillon has other ideas though and has regained full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Dillon is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Dillon preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Dillon might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Black decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Dillon misses with an uppercut.
Black wants to counter with a clinch but Dillon pushes him away.
Black shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dillon but Dillon pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Cruz Dillon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Black.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Black shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dillon as he avoids it easily.
Black has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Dillon lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Black circles away quickly and effectively.
Black gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Dillon counters by clinching up.
Black takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Black is looking for a takedown.
Dillon tries to pull guard but Black forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Black gets underhooks to prevent Dillon's takedown attempt.
Dillon is trying to pull guard but Black turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Black breaks from the clinch.
Black steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Dillon. That one must have hurt.
Dillon pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Black changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Cruz Dillon is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dillon tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Dillon tries to bum rush Black with a series of wild strikes but Black uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Dillon leaves Black with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Black has closed the distance and engaged Dillon in a clinch.

Dillon works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
