Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Walter Payton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Warden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 1, fighting out of London, Walter Payton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Jason Warden!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Richard Clark and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Warden drives through and clinches with Payton against the cage.
Payton lands a body punch.
Warden gets underhooks to prevent Payton's takedown attempt.
Warden misses with a knee to the head.
Payton changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Warden fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Payton lands with a kick to the ribs.

Warden closes the distance and clinches.
Payton tries to land knees in the clinch but Warden avoids the damage to the body.
Warden crunches a lovely knee into Payton's ribcage.
Payton lands a shoulder strike.
Warden has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Payton is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
The referee calls for Payton to work.
Payton has a couple of punches blocked by Warden.

Warden has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Payton clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Payton takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Payton wants to clinch but Warden slips to the side

and Warden counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Payton's guard now.
Payton looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Warden puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Payton is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Walter Payton is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Payton closes the distance and pushes Warden back into the cage.

Warden is pushing Payton up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Warden breaks from the clinch.
Warden rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Payton moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Warden bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Warden is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Payton has escaped the position, nice work there.
Payton manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Warden working over Payton with some ground and pound. Payton looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Payton is looking for a sweep. Warden is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Warden in particular looking to stall.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Payton feints and as Warden raises his hands in defense, Payton changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Payton is looking to advance position but Warden has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

Jason Warden showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Payton digs a right hand into Warden's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Warden's gas tank.

Jason Warden comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Warden has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
