Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Octavio Howe (ranked 6270 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tank Boner (ranked 24977 p4p, 0 weight class). Tank Boner is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boner throws a lazy body kick
letting Howe counter with a right hand.
Howe goes for a double leg but Boner avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Boner continues to drive forward.
Boner punishes Howe's body with a nice straight punch.

Boner gets a takedown into half guard.
Howe manages to get to full guard.
Howe is pulling down on Boner's head. It's preventing any offense from Boner, at least for the moment.
Boner throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Howe works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Howe is controlling Boner's posture.

Boner must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Howe seems keen to control Boner's posture.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Boner accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Boner wants to pass the guard but Howe is keeping the position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Boner slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Boner clinches up with Howe and pushes him back against the cage.
Boner gets underhooks to prevent Howe's takedown attempt.

Howe wants to take the fight to the mat but Boner manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Octavio Howe. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Boner jumps guard and drags Howe to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Boner looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Howe has picked Boner up and slammed him! Boner can't keep hold of the triangle and Howe manages to pass to side control!
Howe gets to mount! Boner was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
Boner really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Howe. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Howe has control of Boner's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Boner regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Boner tries to control Howe's head but Howe pushes him back down and moves quickly to lock up an arm here - he's swung around for an armbar! Will he get it??? Yes! Boner is tapping out! Lovely Jiu Jitsu there!
