PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Can Tun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hiroyuki Seiji (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tun has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Can Tun has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Can Tun!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hiroyuki Seiji!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Kenichi Hosakawa and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tun fails with an attempt to clinch.
Tun looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Tun takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Seiji shoots in looking for a takedown. Tun tries to sprawl out of it but Seiji keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Tun manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Seiji wants to control from the top but Tun keeps moving.
Seiji working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Seiji slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Seiji trying to control the position from guard on top but Tun is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Tun not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Seiji stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tun swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Seiji shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Tun pinned against the cage. Tun gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Seiji moves into range and clinches up with Tun.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Seiji is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Tun gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Can Tun has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hiroyuki Seiji.

Seiji decides to pull guard.
Seiji is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Seiji looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Seiji wants to get back to his feet but Tun is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Seiji seems keen to control Tun's posture.
Tun pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Seiji is keeping the position for now.

Seiji bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Tun's guard.

Seiji lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Tun trying to keep a closed guard but Seiji is proving a slippery customer.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Seiji tries a head kick but it misses.
Seiji shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Tun but Tun pushes him off and we're back to square one.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Tun tries to clinch up.
Seiji throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Tun's waist but Tun gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Seiji off to one side.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Seiji tries to keep at a distance but Tun has taken the fight into the clinch.
Seiji is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Seiji drops down looking for an ankle pick but Tun pulls his leg out and moves away.

Seiji instigates a clinch.
Seiji wants a takedown but no success here.
Tun is pressed up against the cage. Seiji has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Tun down to the mat. Tun avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Can Tun has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hiroyuki Seiji.
Seiji misses with a head kick.
Tun rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Seiji moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Seiji keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Can Tun is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Tun darts in and clinches Seiji up against the cage.

Tun trying to land knees to the body.
Tun prevents Seiji from breaking the clinch.

Seiji jumps into guard, dragging Tun to the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Seiji is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Tun is controlling him.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Seiji doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Tun keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Seiji's head.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Tun counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Seiji's guard now.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Seiji looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Tun won't allow Seiji to get back to his feet.

Tun wanted to stand there but Seiji had control of the position.
Seiji manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Tun manages to get himself to full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Seiji avoids a punch combination nicely.

Tun gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Tun pushes Seiji back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Tun tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Seiji just stands there and leans against the cage.
Tun is looking to break free of the clinch but Seiji has double underhooks.

Seiji drags the fight down to the ground.
Tun trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The cut man is working on Can Tun's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Seiji shoots in for a double leg but Tun sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Can Tun has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hiroyuki Seiji.
Tun closes the distance and clinches up with Seiji, looking for a takedown. Tun pushes Seiji against the cage but Seiji circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Seiji shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Tun's guard.

Tun knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Seiji on the ground.

Tun working to try and regain half guard.
Tun tries to hold on but Seiji pushes him away.
Seiji trying to control but he's not successful this time.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Tun tries to hold on but Seiji pushes him away.
Seiji looking to control but Tun is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Seiji might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Tun kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Seiji with a couple of short strikes.
Tun can't escape the position.
Seiji lands a big shot there that rocks Tun but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

And that's the end of the fight!
Can Tun showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Tun has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
