PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Khabib Psa (ranked 6289 p4p, 419 weight class) and Simija Nomurokai (ranked 7103 p4p, 449 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Psa closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Nomurokai did well to prevent Psa getting side control.

Nomurokai manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Psa keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Psa has hold of one of Nomurokai's legs. Nomurokai is fighting the takedown attempt but Psa gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Nomurokai throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Psa escapes and throws Nomurokai's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Nomurokai has his foot on Psa's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Psa works his way back into a safe position though.

Nomurokai lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Psa is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Nomurokai is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Nomurokai seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Psa does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Psa closes the distance and clinches up with Nomurokai, looking for a takedown. Psa pushes Nomurokai against the cage but Nomurokai circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
No luck for Nomurokai with that takedown attempt.

A close second round but Simija Nomurokai will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Nomurokai shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Psa as he jumps to the side.
Psa wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

and Psa counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Nomurokai manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Psa's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Psa shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Nomurokai's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Nomurokai bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Psa's guard.

Nomurokai is working Psa over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
