The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pai lands a jab to Holman's midsection.
Holman tries to score a power double leg takedown but Pai sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Holman somewhat.
Holman takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

It looks like Solomon Holman has been cut.

Holman fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Pai to the ground. Holman is now in Pai's guard.
Holman chips away with some ground and pound.

Pai is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Holman defends well.

Holman avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Holman's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Pai is trying to control the position but Holman postures up.
Pai wants to hit a switch here but Holman passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Pai there!

Holman lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Pai hang on?
Pai tries to hold on but Holman postures up.

Pai is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
Holman is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Pai manages to regain half guard. Good work.

Pai is positioning himself well to prevent Holman advancing to mount.
Pai wants to control but Holman is keeping busy.
Pai avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Holman.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Pai is refusing to be controlled, as Holman sits in half guard.
Pai holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Holman fails with the takedown.

Holman shoots in and drives through. Pai sprawls well.
