PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pal Hasani (ranked 2063 p4p, 228 weight class) and Desmond Lewis (ranked 2183 p4p, 245 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Hasani might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Slipknot - Duality. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Pal Hasani!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Desmond Lewis!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Patrick Alders and Paul Aken.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lewis darts in looking for a takedown but Hasani gets double underhooks and turns Lewis into the cage.
Desmond Lewis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lewis tries to clinch
letting Hasani counter with a right hand.
Lewis's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Hasani connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Lewis scrambles back to his feet.
Lewis is looking to clinch but Hasani is avoiding it.
A quick step to the side and Hasani tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Lewis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hasani's waist but Hasani gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lewis off to one side.
Hasani looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Hasani changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Lewis tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Hasani counters with a nice uppercut.

Lewis is rocked!
Hasani looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Hasani backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Lewis's temple! It sends Lewis violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Hasani celebrates and the doctors try to help Lewis!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Flying Knee). Pal Hasani!
