PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Brian Marais (ranked 3845 p4p, 331 weight class) and Moses Makwame (ranked 4709 p4p, 362 weight class). Marais comes to the cage accompanied by The Offspring - Come Out And Play. Makwame is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by House of Pain - Jump Around. Moses Makwame told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Makwame scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Makwame throws a hook but Marais blocks it.
Marais takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Marais takes one on the button.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Makwame.
Makwame slaps away a takedown attempt from Marais, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Makwame displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Makwame uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Makwame shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Marais's guard.

Marais is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Makwame defends well.
Marais looking to hit a scissor sweep but Makwame is one step ahead there.

Makwame is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Marais has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Makwame is looking to defend but Marais has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Makwame! Marais pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Makwame taps out and this one is all over!
