Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nomor Gai (ranked 2707 p4p, 295 weight class) and Wayde West (ranked 2623 p4p, 287 weight class). Gai kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Alice Cooper No More Mr. Nice Guy. West has chosen Sober as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Steve Montenegro and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some bone on bone action there as West checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Gai throws a sloppy head kick and West moves out of range easily.
West tries to clinch but Gai moves out of range.
West on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Gai fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches West on the side of the head.
Gai looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Gai goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
West is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.
West tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
A little feinted left hand from Gai on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Nice body punch from Gai.
West is looking to clinch.
Nomor Gai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gai tries to land a front kick but West steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Gai looks for the body kick but West saw that one coming.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Gai lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and West has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from West and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gai fakes high and swings low for a body shot but West manages to avoid it.

Gai pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

West drives through and clinches with Gai against the cage.

Gai is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. West is defending well for now.

Gai tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

Gai with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Gai breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Gai tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and West is able to avoid easily.

West moves into the clinch successfully.
Gai scores with a shoulder strike.
Gai tried to land a shot to the body but connects with West's elbow.
West pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Gai ducks down and throws a hook to the body but West moves away.
West tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gai paws at him with a jab and circles away.
The fight stays on the outside here - West looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
West gets a clinch.
Gai lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
West misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Gai misses with some punches.
Gai breaks the clinch.
Gai throws a leg kick but West checks it.
Gai connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between West's hands.
Gai with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Gai throws a leg kick which misses West's front leg but catches the back leg as West tries to avoid it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Gai, right into the meat.

West moves into the clinch.
West's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Gai tests West's chin there with a solid looking shot.
West is still on wobbly legs! Can Gai finish him?
West is looking to clinch.
Gai dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on West. That did some damage!
The fight stays on the outside here - West looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
West seems to have recovered his senses.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

and West counters with a head kick that drops Gai to the mat! Gai scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!

Gai was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Gai turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nomor Gai dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Gai.

Gai can't find room to land a body shot as West controls the action.
West jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Gai walks away with a smile on his face. West gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Gai cracks West with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
West's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Gai swats away the attempt to clinch by West.
West dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Gai misses with a wild body shot.
West on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Gai circles away from the clinch attempt
and Gai counters with a nice low kick that buckles West's knee momentarily.
Gai keeps the fight on the outside.
Nomor Gai is winning the standup battle so far.
West takes one to the side of the head.
Gai bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of West's head.
West tries to clinch up.
West tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gai swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Gai throws a shot from downtown. West moves away and avoids it.
West drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Gai defends it well.
Gai works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
West looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Gai is fending him off so far but West persists. Nope, Gai circles away and we're back to standing.
West moves into range and clinches up with Gai.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gai lands a nice uppercut.
Gai tries to work over West's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Gai tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and West avoids it.
A short left from West.
Gai lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Gai creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends West's eyes rolling into the back of his head! West drops to his knees and Gai pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nomor Gai!
Nomor Gai retains his lightweight title!
Nomor Gai seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
