Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Virgil Hurst!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jon Jones!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones drives through and clinches with Hurst against the cage.
Hurst stops a takedown attempt from Jones.
Hurst could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Jones is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Hurst is defending well.
Jones tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Virgil Hurst has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jon Jones.
Jones has Hurst pushed against the cage.

Hurst has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Jones is trying to keep an underhook but Hurst manages to get the takedown into half guard.
Jones tries to get to full guard but Hurst has control of the leg.
Jones wants to control but Hurst is keeping busy and won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hurst not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Jones is looking to escape.
Hurst slips a nice elbow through Jones's hands, connecting with Jones's forehead.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jones wants to improve his position but Hurst is controlling well.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jones can do anything to dispel that myth.
Hurst is thwarting Jones's attempts to control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jones trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Hurst looking to control but Jones is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Jones really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hurst. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Hurst scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Jones?
Jones wants to control but Hurst is having none of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jones is wriggling around trying to escape.
Hurst is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Jones can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Jones working to try and regain half guard.

Hurst has hold of an arm here, looking to extend it. He's committed to the armbar attempt here! Will he get it?! Yes! Jones is forced to tap!
