Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paul Lewis (ranked 5179 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ze Serra (ranked 24672 p4p, 147 weight class). Serra has chosen Zombie as his entrance music. Ze Serra is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Ze Serra!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, William Gold and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Serra closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Lewis quickly recovers to half guard.
Serra is looking to take a break and control but Lewis is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Lewis keeping hold of Serra's head, controlling as best he can.
Serra content to control rather than advance.
Lewis keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Serra seems to be looking for submissions.
Serra is nestled in close to Lewis, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Lewis is looking to control Serra's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lewis avoid being mounted?

Serra has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Serra is trying to control the action in half guard but Lewis is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Serra.
Lewis was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Lewis feints a jab promting Serra to slip. Lewis then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Serra slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Serra fails with the takedown.
Serra looks winded!

Lewis has managed to clinch.
Lewis displaying some good clinch control by pressing Serra up against the cage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Lewis struggles to land a body shot inside as Serra controls his hands.

Lewis's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ze Serra dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Lewis wants to clinch up but Serra keeps it at a distance.
Serra is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Lewis.

Lewis fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Serra, pushing him back against the cage.
Serra throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Lewis breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Lewis throws a series of punches but Serra moves out of range.
Serra throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lewis's waist but Lewis gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Serra off to one side.
Lewis tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Serra manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Lewis - that will leave a mark!
Serra misses with an uppercut.
Lewis closes this distance looking for a takedown but Serra circles away.
Serra is breathing heavily.
Lewis throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Serra's waist but Serra gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lewis off to one side.

Serra closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Lewis's guard.
Lewis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Serra on the ground.
Lewis has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Serra's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Lewis tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Serra is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Serra is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Serra slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
We've been informed that Serra has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Lewis looking for a sweep. Not yet Lewis, not yet.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Serra looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lewis is fending him off so far but Serra persists. Nope, Lewis circles away and we're back to standing.

Lewis moves into the clinch successfully.

A short right from Lewis.
Lewis lands a right hand.

Lewis pulls guard effortlessly.
Serra working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Lewis looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Serra puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Lewis lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Lewis.

Serra has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Lewis avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Serra tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Lewis defends well and Serra ends up having to push Lewis into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Serra is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

Lewis tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Serra paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Lewis drops down looking for an ankle pick but Serra pulls his leg out and moves away.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Horrible takedown attempt by Lewis or perhaps it was just good defense by Serra, which made it look bad.

And that's the end of the fight!
Paul Lewis showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Lewis has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
