PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bradley Bond (ranked 3597 p4p, 402 weight class) and Giuseppe Turturro (ranked 3975 p4p, 427 weight class). Bradley Bond had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Giuseppe Turturro!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Patrick Alders and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bond tries to clinch up but Turturro circles away and keeps his distance.

Bond is trying to pull guard but Turturro has him pressed against the cage.
Turturro tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Bond jumps guard but Turturro turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Turturro ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Turturro no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Bond stands and throws Turturro's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Bond definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Turturro trying his best to control but Bond has mounted him.

Bond is working for a guillotine from mount but Turturro frees his head quite easily.

Bond working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

Turturro keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Turturro sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Turturro tries to get to full guard but Bond has control of the leg.

Turturro is controlling Bond's position as best he can from this difficult position.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Turturro regains full guard. Nicely done.

Bond is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Turturro is just riding it out for now. Bond eventually gives up the hold.
Turturro manages to get to full guard.
Bond stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Turturro swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Bond might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Turturro had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bond defends it easily.

Bond wants to pass the guard but Turturro is keeping the position.
Turturro manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bond manages to get himself to full guard.

Turturro is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Bond has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Turturro is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Bond.
Bond is not content to let Turturro control the position.
Bond regains half guard there - taking advantage of Turturro's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Giuseppe Turturro will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Turturro bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bond's guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Turturro slows the pace down in half guard.
Turturro wants to control but Bond is keeping him busy.

Bond is looking to cinch up a triangle. Turturro throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Bond's body to avoid the submission. Bond has instead reached around Turturro's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Bond arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Bradley Bond!
