Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chuck Davies (ranked 5751 p4p, 428 weight class) and David Dukes (ranked 4624 p4p, 369 weight class). David Dukes will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chuck Davies!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, David Dukes!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Nard Betker and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dukes lands a big head kick that sends Davies tumbling to the mat! Dukes takes a step backwards and waves Davies back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Davies is rocked!


It looks like Chuck Davies has been cut.

Dukes moves into the clinch.
Oh Davies is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Dukes pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Dukes darts in and clinches Davies up against the cage.
Davies seems to have got his legs back now.
Davies tries to score a body lock takedown but Dukes shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Davies ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Davies no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Dukes trying to control the position from guard on top but Davies is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Dukes drops back looking for a leg! Davies is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Davies manages to kick Dukes off! Dukes jumps back into Davies's guard.

Davies has his foot on Dukes's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dukes works his way back into a safe position though.

Dukes trying to control but Davies is working from the bottom.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Dukes throws a head kick but Davies moves out of range.
Davies attempts a counter takedown but Dukes avoids it well and moves away.
Dukes closes the distance but Davies moves to the side

and Davies decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Dukes's guard.
Davies looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Dukes trying to keep a closed guard but Davies is proving a slippery customer.
Davies has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Davies is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Dukes is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Dukes has escaped and now he's on top!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dukes throws an elbow that misses. Davies uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Dukes's guard. Nice move by Davies!

Davies tries to free his leg and advance position but Dukes is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Davies drops back, looking for a kneebar! Dukes looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Dukes looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Dukes!


Dukes wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Davies, who protects the arm well.
Dukes trying to control the position but Davies is working away.

Davies manages to work his way to half guard, despite Dukes's best efforts.
Davies is holding on to half guard well.
Davies wants to control but Dukes is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Dukes drops an elbow to the side of Davies's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Davies's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Dukes feints and then cracks Davies's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Davies down.
Dukes closes the distance but Davies moves to the side
and Davies connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Dukes gets off balance looking for a body kick

and Davies counters with a takedown into side control.

Davies swings around for an armbar but Dukes sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Davies's guard.
Davies is controlling Dukes's posture.

Dukes has gone for a leg lock! Davies slips out almost immediately though and dives into Dukes's guard.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The strikes coming from Dukes are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Davies regains half guard there - taking advantage of Dukes's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Dukes missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

Dukes not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Dukes wants to advance to full mount but Davies doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Dukes throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Dukes trying to control but Davies is working from the bottom.
Dukes might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Davies haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Davies keeps the fight on the outside.

Dukes manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Davies on his heels. He'll look to pass Davies's guard now, I'm sure.
Dukes wants to get up but he can't break Davies's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Dukes in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Dukes has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Dukes postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Davies seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

David Dukes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

David Dukes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Davies is working for a kimura but Dukes is defending it quite comfortably.

Davies is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Dukes doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Davies.

Davies on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Davies tries to get out of the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

David Dukes comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Dukes has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
