PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rampa The Devastaor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brian Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brian Santos!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Russell Pearce and Bruno Lombardi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The Devastaor shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
The Devastaor blocks Santos's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.

Santos has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Santos tries to reverse the position but The Devastaor maintains control.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The Devastaor tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Santos wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Santos is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from The Devastaor.
A slapping body kick lands there for Santos.

The Devastaor rushes Santos and presses him up against the cage.
The Devastaor gets underhooks to prevent Santos's takedown attempt.
Santos stalling in the clinch but The Devastaor improves position.
Santos misses with a knee to the head.
The Devastaor creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.

The Devastaor breaks the clinch.

The Devastaor fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Santos, pushing him back against the cage.
Santos can't get the takedown.
Rampa The Devastaor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Brian Santos.
Santos tries to land a knee to the head but The Devastaor blocks with his arms.

The Devastaor ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. The Devastaor no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Santos looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Santos is going olschool here, as he tries to force The Devastaor to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so The Devastaor shrugs it off.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
The Devastaor is desperately trying to improve his position but Santos has a good base and remains in mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Brian Santos will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Santos tries to clinch up but The Devastaor circles away and keeps his distance.
The Devastaor fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Santos is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. The Devastaor doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Santos.

The Devastaor is looking for a sweep. Santos is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The Devastaor wants to control the action here but instead Santos manages to pass to full mount!
The Devastaor is trying to escape the mount but Santos keeps good control and instead manages to take The Devastaor's back.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Santos is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. The Devastaor has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Santos has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! The Devastaor taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Santos doesn't care though - he's delighted!
