PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Idris Onolunose (ranked 2441 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dalcha Lungiambula (ranked 2960 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Idris Onolunose!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dalcha Lungiambula!
The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, John Roberts and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Onolunose scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Onolunose in particular looking to stall.

Lungiambula really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Onolunose. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Onolunose has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Lungiambula uses from the top position.
Onolunose wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Lungiambula darts in looking for a takedown but Onolunose gets double underhooks and turns Lungiambula into the cage.

Onolunose takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Onolunose goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Lungiambula turns into him and now he's in Onolunose's guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Onolunose is looking to take a break and control but Lungiambula is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Onolunose is working for a kimura but Lungiambula is defending it quite comfortably.
Onolunose wants to get back to his feet.

Well Onolunose has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
