Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Katuro Tisoaka (ranked 6440 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akili Webb (ranked 5990 p4p, 0 weight class). Tisoaka comes to the cage accompanied by Festivo. Webb has chosen See/Saw- Jay Reatard as his entrance music. Akili Webb will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tisoaka slips a straight right by Webb.
Webb moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Tisoaka avoids the head kick by Webb.
Webb misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Tisoaka.
Katuro Tisoaka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Webb misses with a hook.
Webb cracks Tisoaka with a right hand to the side of the head.
Webb throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Tisoaka fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Webb misses the jab.
Webb walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Webb reaches up to try and control the position but Tisoaka seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Webb rolls and tries to escape and now Tisoaka has his back!

Webb is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Tisoaka doesn't have the hooks in and Webb manages to turn into his guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Tisoaka bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Webb's guard.

Webb's coach down at NYC Alpha (Conditioning and Sparring Gym) was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Webb's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.

Tisoaka seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Webb for as long as he can get away with.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tisoaka's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
