The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rotje tries a head kick but it misses.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Rotje.
Rotje dives in for a single leg takedown but Durand sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Durand is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Rotje looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Knor Rotje. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rotje gets caught flat footed, as Durand shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Durand drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Durand jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Durand is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Durand extends the arm and Rotje is forced to tap!
