The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nurmagomedov shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Holder's guard.

Nurmagomedov wants to get up but he can't break Holder's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Holder wants to improve his position but Nurmagomedov is controlling well.
Nurmagomedov working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Nurmagomedov is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Holder is just riding it out for now. Nurmagomedov eventually gives up the hold.
Nurmagomedov lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Holder quite badly. Holder pulls Nurmagomedov in close trying to recover. Nurmagomedov postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Holder on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Holder doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
