PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Clive Simmons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fedor Arshavin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Fedor Arshavin was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Fedor Arshavin!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Andrew Berry and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arshavin misses with a takedown attempt - Simmons sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Arshavin shoots in and drives through. Simmons sprawls well.
Simmons misses with a jab, cross combination.
Arshavin displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Simmons throws out the jab.
Simmons moves out of range of the strikes.
Simmons cracks Arshavin with a right hand to the side of the head.

Arshavin looks for a takedown but Simmons sprawls well.

Arshavin looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Simmons has picked Arshavin up and slammed him! Arshavin can't keep hold of the triangle and Simmons manages to pass to side control!
Simmons wants to control but Arshavin is keeping him busy.
Arshavin is looking to reverse the position.
Simmons wants to lay and pray for a moment but Arshavin keeps working.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Arshavin is trying to escape the position but Simmons is controlling the position.

Simmons takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Arshavin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
