Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sandy Roy (ranked 24032 p4p, 0 weight class) and Evgeny Sharin (ranked 5073 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sandy Roy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Evgeny Sharin!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Viktor Lagutenko and Valeri Chadov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sharin rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Roy moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Roy feinted there with a counter leg kick.

Sharin gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Sharin is on top in guard.

Sharin trying to control the position from guard on top but Roy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Sharin must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Roy looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Roy avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Roy might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Roy trying to keep a closed guard but Sharin is proving a slippery customer.
Roy really is a fat lump.

Sharin in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Sharin wants to control from the top but Roy keeps moving.
Sharin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Roy swivels though and keeps the full guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Roy is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Sharin pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Roy is keeping the position for now.
Sharin trying to control but Roy is working from the bottom.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Sharin looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Sharin is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Roy reverses the position - he's now on top in Sharin's guard.

Sharin has his foot on Roy's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Roy works his way back into a safe position though.

Sharin is in all sorts of trouble here.
Sharin tries to hold on but Roy pushes him away.
Roy prevents Sharin from getting the reversal.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Roy is landing with some decent strikes but Sharin is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Sharin is looking to get back to his feet here but Roy is keeping cool and he's managed to take Sharin's back.
Roy doesn't have the hooks in and Sharin manages to turn into his guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Roy bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sharin's guard.

Sharin wants to hit a switch here but Roy passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Sharin there!

Roy with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Roy is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sharin can do to turn this around?
Sharin is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Roy jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Sharin is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Sharin and Roy has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Sharin is looking for a sweep.

Roy thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Roy stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Sandy Roy is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Sharin shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Sharin is looking to stall here but Roy recovers full guard.
Roy is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Sharin got a little sloppy there for a moment and Roy has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sharin has managed to get both his arms back between Roy's legs - danger averted.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Sharin throws an elbow that misses. Roy uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Sharin's guard. Nice move by Roy!

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Sharin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Roy does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Sharin wants to advance to full mount but Roy doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Roy has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Roy lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Sharin takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Sharin drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Roy is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Sharin off and has taken his back!

Roy is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Sharin has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Sharin wants to control his opponent's hands but Roy gets his hands free.

And that's the end of the fight!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Roy, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
