Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Billy Batts Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Michael Jai White!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Daniel Cesar and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from White misses its intended target.
Batts Jr lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Batts Jr throws a leg kick but White checks it.
White swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Batts Jr half committed to a counter leg kick.
Batts Jr throws a body kick that misses.
White throws a big shot that misses.
White throws a right and a left that Batts Jr avoids nicely.
A swing and a miss from Batts Jr.
White has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Batts Jr is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Batts Jr throws a head kick that White semi-blocks.
Batts Jr scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Batts Jr ducks right into an uppercut from White.
Batts Jr takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
White throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Batts Jr counters with a left to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Batts Jr fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt White.
Batts Jr lands a lovely overhand right.
Batts Jr throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Batts Jr lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
White throws a body shot but no joy.
White's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Batts Jr connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! White scrambles back to his feet.
White scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Batts Jr with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
White misses with a right hand
and Batts Jr counters with an outside leg kick.

White drops Batts Jr with a left right combo! White follows him down to the ground into side control.


Batts Jr is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Batts Jr is looking for a sweep.
Oh Batts Jr is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
White wants to control but Batts Jr is keeping him busy.
White tries to stand but Batts Jr is controlling his head.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
You can see the frustration on Batts Jr's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Batts Jr tries to improve position but can't.
Batts Jr seems to have got his legs back now.
Batts Jr is not content to let White control the position.

Batts Jr is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked White off and has taken his back!

White is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
White rolls, trying to escape but Batts Jr keeps control of the position.

Batts Jr is trying to stick to White's back but White is turning into Batts Jr. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Batts Jr's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by White.

White trying to control but Batts Jr is working from the bottom.

White drops back looking for a leg! Batts Jr is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Batts Jr manages to kick White off! White jumps back into Batts Jr's guard.

Batts Jr working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. White doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. White manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
White has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Batts Jr is proving hard to escape from.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Batts Jr looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
White stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Batts Jr swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Batts Jr controls White momentarily but White frees himself.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Billy Batts Jr will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!


White tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Batts Jr misses with a leg kick.
Nice uppercut lands for White. That snapped Batts Jr's head back.
White takes one to the chin there.
Batts Jr fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Batts Jr dips to his left and cracks White with an uppercut!
The fighters circle momentarily. White darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

White moves out of range of the body kick from Batts Jr.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
White tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Batts Jr was well out of range. Poor timing from White.
Michael Jai White seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Batts Jr lands a jab.
White throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Batts Jr on the side of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Donk. White catches Batts Jr right on the button with a cross.

Batts Jr takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
White lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
It looks like Batts Jr has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.
White misses with an uppercut.
Batts Jr was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Batts Jr does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Batts Jr throws a lazy head kick
and White makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
White wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Good leg kick by Batts Jr there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Batts Jr throws a jab when White was well out of range.
White lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Batts Jr backs up against the ropes.
Batts Jr throws the left hand but White avoids the punch easily.
White is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Batts Jr with a body shot.
Batts Jr throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent White stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
White tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Batts Jr was well out of range. Poor timing from White.
Batts Jr throws a quick counter head kick but White was just out of range.
This has been an exciting period of action!
White drops Batts Jr with a huge uppercut! Batts Jr drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. White is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Michael Jai White!
