PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Total Bastard (ranked 748 p4p, 38 weight class) and Black Rob (ranked 2071 p4p, 107 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Total Bastard!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Black Rob!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Rob with that takedown attempt.
Rob changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bastard tries to avoid it but Rob manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bastard to the ground. Bastard escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Rob has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Bastard is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Bastard throws a good cross that connects.

Rob shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Rob showed some decent athleticism there.

Rob decides to stand and escape the position.
Rob blocks a jab.
Bastard scores with a sloppy right hand. Rob should have avoided that one.

It looks like Black Rob has been cut.
Bastard tests Rob's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Rob looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Bastard is looking to counter punch.
Total Bastard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Black Rob.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Bastard throws out a loose jab but Rob uses good head movement to avoid it.

Bastard ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rob moves away.
Rob tries to score a power double leg takedown but Bastard sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rob somewhat.

Bastard throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Rob stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bastard swings for the body but Rob moves out of range.
Bastard throws a shot from downtown. Rob moves away and avoids it.
Rob defending well as Bastard loads up on a big left hand.
Rob throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Bastard slaps away a takedown attempt from Rob, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Rob fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Bastard avoids it really well and circles away.
Black Rob seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rob tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Bastard defends well and Rob ends up having to push Bastard into the ropes where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Rob throws a low kick, looking for Bastard's leg but Bastard calmly moves out of range.
Rob throws a sloppy head kick and Bastard moves out of range easily.

Rob shoots in for a takedown but Bastard shows good takedown defense.
Bastard checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Bastard was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Bastard avoids the head kick by Rob.
Bastard went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
We've been told by Bastard's head coaches at Men Only. No Liberals ! that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Bastard gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Rob wants to pass the guard but Bastard is keeping the position.

Rob shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bastard but Bastard pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Rob throws a leg kick that misses.
Bastard throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Rob tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Rob shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bastard as he jumps to the side.
Total Bastard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Black Rob.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Rob looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bastard is fending him off so far but Rob persists. Nope, Bastard circles away and we're back to standing.
Rob dives in and grabs Bastard's left leg, looking for a takedown. Bastard pushes down on Rob's head and hops out.
Rob tries for a takedown but Bastard sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Rob shoots in looking for a takedown. Bastard tries to sprawl out of it but Rob keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Bastard manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Rob drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Rob looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bastard is fending him off so far but Rob persists. Nope, Bastard circles away and we're back to standing.

Bastard fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Rob looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Bastard jabs Rob right on the nose. Rob blinks but takes it well.
The fighters circle momentarily. Bastard darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Rob is still on wobbly legs! Can Bastard finish him?

Rob seems to have recovered his senses.
Rob moves away from the strike by Bastard.

Bastard takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

That has opened up Black Rob's cut even more.
Bastard looks to score with a jab to the body but Rob is just out of range.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rob swings away with a leg kick that misses.

Rob doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Bastard cracks Rob with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Rob looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Bastard finish him?
Rob darts in looking for a takedown but Bastard gets double underhooks and turns Rob into the ropes.
Rob misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Total Bastard is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Bastard counters with a huge overhand right that connects right on the temple, sending him crumpling, face first to the floor! This one is all over! What a knockout!
