PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Iron Dong Pao (ranked 2697 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phill Brooks (ranked 20248 p4p, 0 weight class). Brooks comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Cult Of Personality kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Phill Brooks!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Arvi Lind and Matti Vanhoillinen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brooks tries a head kick but it misses.
Brooks has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Pao ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Pao wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Brooks walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Brooks avoids a punch combination nicely.
Pao scores with a body shot.
Pao lands the left hand.
Brooks takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Brooks looks for the body kick but Pao saw that one coming.
Pao lands with a right hand.
Pao cracks a nice hook into Brooks's ribs.
Brooks misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pao shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Brooks eats them both and turns towards Pao to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Pao scores with a takedown into Brooks's guard.
Brooks looking for a sweep. Not yet Brooks, not yet.
Pao missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Brooks really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pao. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Pao connects with a nice short shot to Brooks's temple.
Brooks has hold of Pao's hands but Pao slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Brooks is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Pao scores with a couple of nice shots.
Pao throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Pao winds up and cracks Brooks with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Pao working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Brooks is still in real trouble! Can Pao finish him?

Brooks tries to roll over but Pao keeps him under control.
Pao perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Pao looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Brooks with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Pao scores with a big shot! Brooks's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Brooks! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Iron Dong Pao!
A less than humble Iron Dong Pao misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
Phill Brooks was interviewed post fight and said 'I Don't Know I Could Go Back To WWE Or Train Harder Than Ever Before And Win My Next Fight'.
