The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Paulo Santos and Edson Gomes.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lucas throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

It looks like Gegard Mousasi has been cut.
Mousasi lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Lucas fakes the leg kick and cracks Mousasi in the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lucas has closed the distance and engaged Mousasi in a clinch.

Lucas ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Lucas no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Mousasi postures up.
Lucas looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Mousasi wants to stand but Lucas is controlling his posture from full guard.
Lucas is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Lucas pulls Mousasi in close to prevent any damage.

Lucas wriggles free and stands up.
A combination from Mousasi does no damage.
Mousasi misses with a jab, cross combination.
Mousasi darts in trying to clinch

and Lucas counters by clinching up.

Lucas prevents Mousasi from breaking the clinch.
Mousasi can't break the clinch.
A knee to the head by Lucas.

Mousasi breaks the clinch.

Lucas drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Mousasi is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Lucas is controlling him well.
Mousasi looks gassed!
Mousasi avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Lucas.
Mousasi tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Mousasi is squirming around, avoiding Lucas's attempts to control the action.
Mousasi is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Lucas with shots to the head and body - Mousasi looks very uncomfortable down there.

Lucas lands a nice shot to the head.
Lucas can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mousasi is looking to escape.
Lucas postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Mousasi looks a forlorn figure.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mousasi is squirming around, avoiding Lucas's attempts to control the action.
Mousasi really wants to buck Lucas off and get back to his feet.
Lucas has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Lucas scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Mousasi?

That has opened up Gegard Mousasi's cut even more.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mousasi trying desperately to get to his feet.
Lucas lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
The referee warns Mousasi that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

The cut above Gegard Mousasi's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Lucas jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Mousasi manages to avoid the submission attempt.
An elbow from Lucas crashes against the mat.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lucas trying to control the position but Mousasi is working away.
Mousasi wants to get back to his feet but Lucas drags him back down.
Mousasi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lucas. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Lucas works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
Mousasi is trying to buck Lucas off.

Mousasi throws Lucas to one side and escapes!
Lucas dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Mousasi. That did some damage!
Lucas lands with a slapping head kick.

Gegard Mousasi's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Gegard Mousasi's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
