Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Emmet Malz (ranked 5246 p4p, 466 weight class) and Greg Hunlin (ranked 5299 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Greg Hunlin!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Michael Johnstone and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hunlin pushes Malz up against the cage in a clinch.
Hunlin is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Malz to keep the fight standing.
Malz jumps guard but Hunlin turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Malz tries to pull guard but Hunlin won't allow it.

Malz escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Malz throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Hunlin.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hunlin has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Malz uses from the top position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Malz got a little sloppy there for a moment and Hunlin has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Malz has managed to get both his arms back between Hunlin's legs - danger averted.

Hunlin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Malz doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Malz manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Emmet Malz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hunlin uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Malz.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Hunlin! But no joy.
Hunlin goes for a double leg but Malz avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Malz continues to drive forward.
Malz is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hunlin can do to turn this around?

That was a close second round but I would say that Emmet Malz will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Hunlin has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Malz has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

And that's the end of the fight!
Greg Hunlin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Malz has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
