PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Diego Columbo (ranked 7470 p4p, 258 weight class) and Amadeo Camara (ranked 5816 p4p, 222 weight class). Both these guys are coming into the fight with injuries so let's see if that has a bearing on the fight. Amadeo Camara has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Columbo will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Camara shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Columbo's guard.

Columbo is rocked!
Camara cracks Columbo with a solid left hand.
Oh Columbo is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Camara lands a couple of digs.
Camara postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Columbo has momentary wrist control but Camara slips an elbow through the middle.
Camara wants to control from the top but Columbo keeps moving.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Camara fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Columbo to the ground. Camara is now in Columbo's guard.
We've been informed that Camara has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Columbo wants to stand and escape but Camara is having none of it.
Columbo keeping moving, preventing Camara from controlling successfully.
Camara is working Columbo over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Camara postures up, still in guard. A huge hammer fist lands that bounces Columbo's head off the mat! Columbo is out! He's out! Camara jumps to his feet and celebrates with his corner!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Amadeo Camara!
In his post fight interview, Amadeo Camara started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
