Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Yuri Boyka (ranked 7928 p4p, 579 weight class) and Cris Heat (ranked 23101 p4p, 608 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Heat misses with a two punch combination.
Boyka tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Heat manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Heat rushes Boyka and presses him up against the cage.

Boyka breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Boyka gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Heat.

Heat jumps into guard, dragging Boyka to the mat.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Heat is on top in guard.

Heat has hold of one of Boyka's legs. Boyka is fighting the takedown attempt but Heat gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

A quick step to the side and Boyka tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Boyka digs a right hand into Heat's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Heat's gas tank.
Boyka has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Heat is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Boyka might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Heat is working for a rear naked choke. Boyka is not defending it well and Heat has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Boyka refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Boyka's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
