PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Piotr Porabski (ranked 6247 p4p, 231 weight class) and Andi Cola (ranked 4108 p4p, 88 weight class). Porabski comes to the cage accompanied by Feet- wodzionka. Cola is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by La vaca Lola. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Piotr Porabski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andi Cola!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cola uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Porabski.
Cola staying out of range there.
A nice inside leg kick there by Cola. That's going to slow Porabski down.
Porabski misses the jab.
Cola connects with a leg kick. Porabski looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Cola thumps Porabski with a low kick.

Porabski throws a hook but Cola avoids it easily.

We've been hearing reports that Porabski has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Cola cracks Porabski with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Cola is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Cola wants to control but Porabski is keeping him busy.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cola is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Still in half guard, Cola seems content to control.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Cola feints and then cracks Porabski's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Porabski down.
Porabski on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Cola connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Porabski takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Porabski crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Cola - the referee stops the clock and Porabski gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Cola. Porabski manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Cola cracks Porabski with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Porabski throws an overhand right that lands on Cola's shoulder, as Cola tries to avoid the shot.
Cola blocks a jab.
Some wild striking there from Porabski.
Despite the aggression on Cola's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Porabski takes a head kick and keeps coming.
Cola fails with an attempt to clinch.
Cola throws a head kick that Porabski semi-blocks.
Cola tries to clinch up.
Porabski throws out a loose jab but Cola uses good head movement to avoid it.
Porabski is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Porabski misses with a looping right.
Cola lands a leg kick that knocks Porabski off balance momentarily.
Cola scores with a decent looking hook.
Cola tries to clinch there but Porabski circles away.

Cola tries to close the distance and clinch up but Porabski swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Cola closes the distance and pushes Porabski back into the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A bit of stalling here from Cola.
Cola is pushing Porabski up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Cola receives a warning from the referee for stalling.

Cola goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Cola.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Andi Cola dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Piotr Porabski's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Piotr Porabski's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Cola is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Porabski is keeping busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Porabski tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Cola's elbow.
Cola creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Porabski's defenses.
Cola has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Cola manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Cola just misses with a elbow thrown towards Porabski's brow.

A nice left hand lands by Cola.

Porabski lands a left hand that snaps the head of Cola backwards.
Cola throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Cola misses with a hook from the clinch.

Jeez, Piotr Porabski's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Piotr Porabski's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Andi Cola!
Our winner, Andi Cola, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
The defeated Piotr Porabski had this to say: 'Im sorry that i failed my fans, coaches and family tonight. Ill be back stronger !'.
