Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Juan Villa (ranked 5134 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abel Estrada (ranked 5120 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Juan Villa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Abel Estrada!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, John Roberts and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Villa is looking to clinch but Estrada is avoiding it.
Estrada is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Villa is looking to clinch.
Estrada tries to land a leg kick but Villa saw it coming and moves away.
Estrada tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Villa swivels and escapes.
Villa avoids the head kick by Estrada.

Estrada forces Villa back against the cage and clinches.
Villa prevents the takedown attempt.
Estrada tries to land knees in the clinch but Villa avoids the damage to the body.
Villa wants a takedown but no success here.

Villa drags the fight down to the ground.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Villa seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Estrada is trying to control the position but Villa postures up.

Villa wants to pass the guard but Estrada is keeping the position.
Villa distracts Estrada with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Estrada can't keep his opponent in guard - Villa advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Estrada shoots in looking for a takedown. Villa tries to sprawl out of it but Estrada keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Villa manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Estrada darts in and clinches Villa up against the cage.
Villa is trying to drag Estrada to the mat but Estrada just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Estrada is looking for a takedown.

Villa breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Estrada closes the distance and clinches up with Villa, looking for a takedown. Estrada pushes Villa against the cage but Villa circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Juan Villa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Abel Estrada.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Estrada jumps guard but Villa stands there with Estrada around his waist. Estrada gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Come on Villa - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.

Villa manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Estrada seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Villa utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Estrada must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

That was a close second round but I would say that Juan Villa will probably get the nod.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Estrada shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Villa pinned against the cage. Villa gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Villa is trying to control. Estrada wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Villa is striking from the bottom but Estrada uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.

Villa makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Estrada throws a head kick but Villa moves out of range.
Estrada tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Estrada tries to close the distance and clinch but Villa swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Villa tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Estrada swivels and escapes.
Estrada tries to clinch but Villa is having none of it.
Villa tries to counter with a takedown but Estrada is quick to defend against it.

Villa shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Villa was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Estrada wants to control but Villa postures up.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Estrada tries to buck Villa off but Villa is having none of it.

I would just about give that final round to Abel Estrada.
I think Villa has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
