Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tricky The Kid (ranked 23080 p4p, 616 weight class) and Edward Tonu (ranked 23589 p4p, 635 weight class). The Kid comes to the cage accompanied by All about the Benjamins. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Edward Tonu was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tricky The Kid!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Edward Tonu!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Daniel Bishop and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Kid bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
The Kid shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Excellent takedown into side control there by The Kid.
The Kid is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Tonu is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The Kid lands a nice forearm strike.
Tonu is looking for a sweep.

Tonu is looking to regain half guard here but The Kid keeps moving and retains side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tonu is trying to control The Kid's posture but The Kid avoids it.
The Kid wants to control but Tonu is keeping him busy.
Tonu really doesn't want to stay on the ground with The Kid. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The Kid passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Tonu!

The Kid takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Tonu is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
The Kid is trying to control. Tonu wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
We've been informed that Tonu has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Tonu works his way to full guard. Good work.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Tonu looking to hit a scissor sweep but The Kid is one step ahead there.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Tonu defends well against a solid takedown attempt from The Kid.
The Kid is trying hard to land a takedown here. Tonu sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
The Kid gets tackled into the cage by Tonu. Tonu maintains the clinch.
The Kid tries to score a body lock takedown but Tonu shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

The Kid tries to pull guard but Tonu won't allow it.
Tonu is trying to break the clinch but The Kid is controlling him.
Tonu has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
The Kid drops down looking for an ankle pick but Tonu pulls his leg out and moves away.
The Kid tries to close the distance and clinch up but Tonu swats him away and circles back towards the center.
The Kid tries to keep at a distance but Tonu has taken the fight into the clinch.
The Kid has Tonu pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Tonu manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The Kid tries to pull guard but Tonu holds him up against the cage and eventually The Kid drops back down to his feet.
The Kid drops down looking for an ankle pick but Tonu pulls his leg out and moves away.
Tonu scores with a hook to the body. The Kid takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

The Kid shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Tonu counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for The Kid!

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The Kid on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
The Kid tries to buck Tonu off but Tonu is having none of it.
Tonu cracks The Kid with a big right hand but The Kid just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
You can see the frustration on The Kid's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Tonu throws a strike aimed at the side of The Kid's head but The Kid avoids it well.
Tonu has worked his way into a potential kimura here. The Kid is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Tonu yanks on the arm and The Kid is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Tonu.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Edward Tonu!
Tricky The Kid spoke after the fight, saying 'Hey, it is what it is. Back to the gym tomorrow!'.
