Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Buddy Franklin (ranked 23137 p4p, 626 weight class) and Saleh Hassan (ranked 23109 p4p, 649 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Buddy Franklin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Saleh Hassan!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Franklin takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.

Hassan lands a left and a right that send Franklin crashing to the mat, dazed. Hassan thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!

It looks like Buddy Franklin has been cut.

Hassan decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hassan stops Franklin from getting back to his feet.
Franklin has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hassan is working away from the top position though.
Franklin looks like he's trying to stand up.

Franklin has one foot on Hassan's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Hassan shoots in for a takedown but Franklin shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Hassan moves into the clinch.
Franklin has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hassan is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Hassan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Hassan pulls Franklin into guard.

Hassan's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Franklin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hassan swivels though and keeps the full guard.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Hassan has Franklin pulled in close to control his posture.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Hassan shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Franklin eats them both and turns towards Hassan to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Hassan shoots in but no luck this time.

Hassan moves into the clinch.
Franklin is working for takedown but Hassan is calmly controlling the position for now.

Franklin tightens his grip and picks Hassan up, before dumping him to the ground. Hassan manages to land in guard.
Hassan is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Hassan gets to his feet. Franklin looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Franklin closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hassan is trying to control Franklin's posture but Franklin avoids it.
Franklin tries to move to full mount but Hassan actually manages to regain half guard.
Hassan wants to get back to full guard.
Hassan preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Franklin content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Hassan gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Hassan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Hassan moves into the clinch successfully.
Franklin wants a takedown but no success here.
Franklin tries for a takedown but Hassan manages to get underhooks.

Hassan shoots in for a double leg but Franklin sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Franklin tries to keep at a distance but Hassan has taken the fight into the clinch.

Franklin looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hassan is fending him off so far but Franklin persists. Nope, Hassan circles away and we're back to standing.
And Hassan tries to counter it with a takedown but Franklin pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Franklin tries to close the distance and clinch but Hassan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Nice takedown defense from Franklin. No joy for Hassan on that attempt.
Hassan throws a series of strikes that have Franklin backpedaling.

Hassan has taken the fight to the clinch.
Hassan wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Hassan escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Hassan closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Franklin tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Hassan's elbow.
Franklin is trying to drag Hassan to the mat but Hassan just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Franklin wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Hassan has him pressed against the cage.

Franklin gets caught flat footed, as Hassan shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Hassan is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Saleh Hassan has got the better of the ground game so far.

Hassan gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Hassan looks to land a combination. Franklin sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Franklin has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Hassan clinches up against the cage.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Franklin is looking to control Hassan's arms but Hassan gets an underhook and turns him. Now Franklin has his back to the cage.
Hassan prevents the takedown attempt.

Hassan manages to break the clinch.

Hassan is really turning it up, unleashing another crisp combination which drops Franklin like a ton of bricks! The referee dives in to stop the fight, saving Franklin from another fist facial!
