Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joey Bags (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Hellmuth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bags comes to the cage accompanied by Princes of the Universe. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joey Bags!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Phil Hellmuth!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, David Schapiro and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A chopping leg kick lands by Hellmuth.
Hellmuth bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Bags fails to land with a series of punches.
Bags gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Hellmuth.
Hellmuth throws out a powerful jab.


It looks like Joey Bags has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bags chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Hellmuth can pounce on him.
Bags fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Bags on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Bags is breathing heavily.
Hellmuth throws a shot to the body.
Hellmuth comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Hellmuth lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Bags sprawling to the canvas. Hellmuth follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Bags hang on?
Hellmuth is taking a breather. Bags says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Hellmuth uses his free foot to push down on Bags's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Bags.
Hellmuth controlling the position easily from mount.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hellmuth is landing with some decent strikes but Bags is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Hellmuth tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Hellmuth lands a big shot there that rocks Bags but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Hellmuth takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Hellmuth putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hellmuth sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Hellmuth lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Hellmuth controlling the pace for now.
Bags tries to hold on but Hellmuth pushes him away.
Hellmuth looking to control and managing it successfully.

Despite being in the dominant position, Phil Hellmuth just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hellmuth scores with a crisp jab that stopped Bags in his tracks.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hellmuth dips to his left and cracks Bags with an uppercut!
Bags moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Hellmuth swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Bags.
A punch lands to the side of Bags 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Hellmuth lands a big uppercut and Bags crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Bags looks OK. Hellmuth waves Bags back to his feet!


Bags is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bags wants to clinch up but Hellmuth keeps it at a distance.
Bags takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Hellmuth keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Hellmuth is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round!Bags had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Hellmuth lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Bags changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hellmuth tries to avoid it but Bags manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hellmuth to the ground. Hellmuth escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joey Bags. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bags takes one to the side of the head.
Bags tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Nice body punch from Hellmuth.
Hellmuth lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Hellmuth Rushes Bags and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Bags is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Hellmuth Piles on the pressure and Bags crumples to the floor! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Phil Hellmuth!
