Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Eddie Alpha (ranked 4626 p4p, 487 weight class) and Ollie OCallaghan (ranked 4943 p4p, 504 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Eddie Alpha has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Eddie Alpha seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alpha's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Alpha duly obliges.
Alpha connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Ollie OCallaghan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Alpha throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck OCallaghan on the side of the head.
Alpha stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

We've been told by Alpha's head coaches at Tycoon Gym that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

OCallaghan is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

OCallaghan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Alpha tries to avoid it but OCallaghan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Alpha to the ground. Alpha escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Eddie Alpha is winning the standup battle so far.
Alpha shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. OCallaghan eats them both and turns towards Alpha to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Alpha fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. OCallaghan sprawls well initially but Alpha persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
OCallaghan shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Alpha but Alpha pushes him off and we're back to square one.
As OCallaghan looks to move away, Alpha throws a big counter combo but OCallaghan just gets out of the way.
Alpha is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
