The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Sam Margolis and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Demmick bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Hurley is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Hurley is controlling Demmick's position as best he can from this difficult position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hurley jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Demmick walks away with a smile on his face. Hurley gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Demmick fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Demmick connects with an inside leg kick.
Demmick tries a head kick but it misses.

It looked like Hurley was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Demmick.
Hurley has Demmick up against the cage in a clinch.
Hurley manages to break the clinch.

Demmick scores with a takedown into Hurley's guard.
Hurley bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Demmick's guard.
Hurley makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Hurley is in close to Demmick's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Hurley postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Hurley decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Demmick throws a leg kick but Hurley sees it coming and checks it nicely.

A close round but Bo Demmick will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Hurley gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Demmick would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Hurley pulls Demmick in close to prevent any damage.

Demmick fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Hurley.
Hurley has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Demmick.
Demmick shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hurley manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Hurley could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Hurley has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Hurley lands a big shot there that rocks Demmick but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
