PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ultimate Warrior (ranked 3326 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oleg Jomaro (ranked 7748 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ultimate Warrior!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Oleg Jomaro!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Sam Margolis and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jomaro manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Warrior on his heels. He'll look to pass Warrior's guard now, I'm sure.

Jomaro wants to control from the top but Warrior keeps moving.
Warrior has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Jomaro slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Jomaro wants to pass the guard but Warrior is keeping the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Jomaro shoots for a double leg takedown but Warrior sprawls well. He's pushed Jomaro's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Warrior scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Jomaro doesn't seem bothered though.
Jomaro closes the distance and clinches up with Warrior, looking for a takedown. Jomaro pushes Warrior against the cage but Warrior circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

A looping hook to the body misses from Warrior. Jomaro does a little dance to reset his feet.
Warrior listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.

Warrior shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Warrior showed some decent athleticism there.

Warrior stands up out of the half guard.

Warrior shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jomaro napping and manages to drive through into side control!
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Jomaro has eaten all the pies!

Warrior is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jomaro is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jomaro wants to control but Warrior postures up.

Warrior controlling from side mount.
Warrior working the strikes but Jomaro uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Warrior is pressing down on Jomaro's thigh, looking to free his foot. Jomaro is holding on for now.
Jomaro is holding on to half guard well.

Warrior seems to be working for a kimura but Jomaro defends the submission attempt.
Warrior is looking to take a break and control but Jomaro is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Warrior is trying to work for a kimura but Jomaro is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Warrior is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Warrior leaves Jomaro with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Warrior attempts a counter takedown but Jomaro avoids it well and moves away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ultimate Warrior dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Jomaro looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Warrior shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Jomaro's guard.
Warrior is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jomaro can do to turn this around?
Warrior scoring with some ground and pound.
Warrior looking to sit in guard and control but Jomaro gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Jomaro slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Jomaro dives in for a single leg takedown but Warrior sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Warrior closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Jomaro quickly recovers to half guard.

Warrior is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Warrior drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Jomaro manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Warrior has Jomaro in his guard.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Warrior wants to sweep here but Jomaro controlling him for the moment.

Well Warrior has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
