The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Beltran bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Hopkins's face as Beltran controls the position.
Hopkins is trying to get back to half guard.
Beltran landing a few strikes.
Beltran is chipping away with strikes.
Hopkins is working to avoid the ground and pound but Beltran connects with a decent elbow.

Beltran tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Hopkins is looking for a sweep.
Beltran cracks Hopkins with an elbow. That is naaassty.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Beltran is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Hopkins looks calm but he's in trouble here. Beltran gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Hopkins is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Beltran lets go of the hold and Hopkins can pop his arm back in it's socket.

Carlos Beltran was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
