The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oooh a lovely combination from Ramirez sends Peitsi down but not out. Ramirez dives into side control looking to finish.

It looks like Pekka Peitsi has been cut.

Ramirez is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Peitsi knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Peitsi is trying to improve his position.

Ramirez has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Ramirez dodges the punch combination from Peitsi.
Peitsi fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Ramirez tries to bum rush Peitsi with a series of wild strikes but Peitsi uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Ramirez throws a low kick, looking for Peitsi's leg but Peitsi calmly moves out of range.
Peitsi slips a straight right by Ramirez.
Peitsi looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Ramirez has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Peitsi off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Peitsi throws a half hearted mid kick.
Ramirez tries to close the distance and clinch up but Peitsi swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Peitsi ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Peitsi no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Ramirez has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Peitsi is proving hard to escape from.
Ramirez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Peitsi swivels though and keeps the full guard.
